EVITA Host API
EVITA (E-safety Vehicle Intrusion Protected Applications) is a EUROPEAN framework to design, verify and prototype an architecture for automotive on-board networks (software and hardware components) . Automotive makers rely on it as a basis to secure the deployment of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication.
EVITA presents design rules to protect the most critical parts of the hardware architecture of the Electronic Control Unit within a Hardware Security Module (HSM). The software security framework allows application specific interfaces to interact with the HSM.
In EVITA, three different levels of HSMs are defined and shown in the table below:
- SECURE-IC SCZ_Host_AppFW_EVITA is a package of software libraries providing support for all the Full EVITA level functions implemented in S700 series iSE.
- Securyzr™ iSE (integrated Secure Element) of the S700 series is considered as an HSM for EVITA architecture. It is integrated into the System-on-Chip (SoC) or microcontroller (MCU) chip.
SCZ_Host_AppFW_EVITA runs on the Host CPU of the MCU and allows any application to access the iSE services through commands defined within EVITA security specifications.

PSA Driver
Platform Security Architecture (PSA) has been developed and promoted by ARM for use in IoT devices to improve their security.
- SECURE-IC SCZ_Host_AppFW_PSA is a package of software libraries providing support for implementing PSA compliant functions with a Secure-IC Securyzr™ integrated Secure Element iSE S100, or a Crypto Solution SCZ_CS_BA450 integrated into the System-on-Chip (SoC).
- SCZ_Host_AppFW_PSA runs on the Host CPU of the SoC and allows any application to access the iSE (respectively SCZ_CS_BA450) services through commands defined by PSA.
