INFORMATIONS:

It is well known that even tiny information leakage can compromise the value of cryptographic keys (irrespective of their actual length). The curse is that side-channel attacks leave no evidence — hence no change to detect them! Thus it is paramount to counter such attacks, but also to characterize them accurately. Indeed, side-channel attacks apply as well on protected cryptographic implementations! The relevant question is this not: “is my system secure?” but “how much time for my system to be broken?”. No prerequisite is required to grasp the contents of this conference, which is deliberately self contained and pedagogical.
